Michael Wolf, FY

In Michael Wolf’s Street View-pictures, he uses Google’s online database as the raw material from which to ‘shoot’ his own photographs. For FY, similar to asoue, Wolf addresses issues of voyeurism and privacy in the modern city, while challenging the traditional definition of a ‘street’ photographer. During Wolf’s searches he encountered a global mass phenomenon of people giving the middle finger to Google’s cameras. FY provides a collection of creative, striking and bizarre versions of this explicit gesture.
